And these readers will be leading the pack on their new bicycles. The Knights of Pythias Longview Lodge #26 sponsored a reading contest for the 1st and 2nd graders. Each night that the students read a book, recorded it on a reading log, and returned it to their teacher, they received a ticket for the drawing. The Knights gave each participating student a certificate, and the boy and girl winning readers from each grade level received a bike plus a helmet.
The winners were 1st graders Andrea Y. and Alex R. Second graders were Lindsey C. and Sam B.
This was our third annual contest, and we hope to be able to participate again next year. Congratulations to all the winners!
