White Oak Elementary School

All fifth grade parents are invited to a parent meeting, Tuesday, May
22 at 6:00pm in the middle school library.  The sixth grade teachers
will share very important middle school information with you.

Registration for White Oak Elementary School for next year has been set and will take place in the Elementary Gym.

***ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE A CURRENT PROOF OF RESIDENCY (EITHER A UTILITY BILL OR LEASE AGREEMENT) BEFORE THEY CAN REGISTER.

Dates and Times:

**FOR NEW STUDENTS** PreK & Kdg. Roundup and all 1st-5th grade students who are NEW TO THE DISTRICT

**August 9 / 9:00-12:00 or 1:00-4:00

**FOR RETURNING STUDENTS ** Students who will be entering Kdg – 5th grade and who ENDED THE YEAR IN MAY AS AN ENROLLED STUDENT

**August 14 / 9:00-12:00 or 1:00-4:00

~~Teacher placement will be mailed to incoming PreK, Kdg, and students new to the district who complete registration on August 9. ALL documents must be furnished before placement will be made.

The White Oak High School Community Library will hold its 2012 Summer Reading Program beginning June 6th through July 18th.

Participants may be between the ages of 5 and 10 years old.

Story Hour will be on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Parents, please make note of these Early Release Dates and Times. Primary will release early on both Thursday, May 24th, and Friday, May 25th at 11:00.  Intermediate will dismiss at 11:30 on both days.  Intermediate Car Pickups will be dismissed at 11:15 on both days.

Congratulations to the winners of the White Oak Primary School reading contest.  Thank you, also, to the Knights of Pythias and Brookshires who donated the bicycles for prizes. For each night that students read, they received a ticket to enter into the drawing for the bicycle drawing.  The more books that were read by the student increased their chances to win.

Thank you to all students who participated. You are all successful readers!

The Character Assembly will be hosted by Mrs. Saccoccio’s second grade class and Mrs. Barton’s Pre-K class. We hope that you can join us this Friday at 8:00 am in the elementary cafeteria as we honor this week’s award winners.
