Primary will have a Character Assembly this Friday, April 12th.  The character trait of Honest will be presented by Mrs. Corbell’s second grade students. The assembly will be held in the elementary school cafeteria and will begin at 8:00 a.m.  We hope to see you there!

The upcoming Early Release date has changed. We will have our Early Release on Tuesday, April 16th. This will be a training day for teachers. Five professional development classes will begin shortly after your children are dismissed. Because of the scheduled events, we are asking that parents NOT eat lunch with their child on the 16th. Please make note of the times below:

• Afternoon PreK will meet from 8-11 with the morning class
• Primary and Intermediate Campuses – 12:00

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, will begin this week. On Tuesday, April 2nd, our 4th grade will participate in Day One of the Writing STAAR, and the 5th grade will take the STAAR Math assessment. On Wednesday, April 3rd, 4th grade will complete Day Two of the Writing STAAR, and fifth grade will take the STAAR Reading assessment.

We encourage our students to:

• Go to bed early
• Be on time for school
• Plan to bring your lunch from home that morning or purchase your lunch from the cafeteria on these two testing days. Food brought in for lunch will not be allowed for any grade level on testing days. VISITORS for lunch will not be permitted on campus on April 2nd or 3rd.
• Students may bring one, sealed bottle of room-temperature water. Any other drink will not be allowed.

We are proud of our students and know that they are ready to show what they can do. Let’s stand behind them and show our support by making sure these tips are followed by all.

The Shoe War will continue through April 12th.

Students are asked to bring as many old worn out tennis shoes as possible and drop them in the boxes outside the Primary or Intermediate offices. These will be recycled. NO cleats, dress shoes, sandals, or flip flops, please.

The grade level with the most shoes will win an ice cream party.

There will be an Early Release on Friday, March 29th. Primary campus will dismiss at 12:00 with Easter parties taking place from 9:00-10:00. The afternoon PreK classes will meet with the morning classes.

The Intermediate campus will dismiss at 12:00 with Easter parties taking place from 9:30-10:30. Please check the blog calendar for Easter party locations listed per grade level.
