Basketball Boys at STATE

With the help of technology, the teachers and students at White Oak Elementary School were able to support the basketball boys while they were playing in the semi-finals in Austin at the State Basketball Tournament. The game was streamed live from the Fox Sports Southwest webcam and watched from Coach Underwood’s computer attached to the newly installed projector. It was almost like being there in person, until we lost the video feed in the last quarter. We then relied on a different type of technology-text messaging. Coach Underwood received the great news – WE WON! – from her iPhone and announced it to an exuberant crowd! CONGRATULATIONS on a well-deserved win. We are SO PROUD of all of you! We will be watching and cheering you on tomorrow as you DEFEND THE DERRICK for the State Title. Win or lose, you demonstrated today you are CHAMPIONS!!!
