We had previously posted that early dismissal for Wednesday, October 30th, would be at different times. Because the high school and middle school will NOT have early release this Wednesday, the Primary and Intermediate campuses will dismissed at the same time. Both elementary campuses will have early release at 11:30 on Wednesday, October 30th.  Mr. Gilbert is making an Alert Now phone call, and notes will be sent home today as well.  Teachers will place a label in students’ planners with the new time as well.

The Intermediate campus has received this check from Target with a letter from Gregg Steinhafel, Chairman, President and CEO, Target Corporation.

This check was presented to White Oak Intermediate based on the votes our campus received during the recent Give With Target campaign. This nationwide campaign allowed anyone in the U.S. to vote for their favorite K-12 school on Facebook. The Pink Heals tour made its way to White Oak on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Three White Oak Intermediate School teachers were presented pink roses. They were Becky McCurdy, Rhonda Bybel, and Charlotte White. Dinah Morgan, a third grade teacher at the Intermediate School, was paid a visit at her home. Red Ribbon Week at White Oak Elementary will be October 28th-November 1st. Mrs. Sarah Maines has planned some special activities for this commemorative week. We hope that every Primary and Intermediate student will participate. Below are listed the themes for each day.

• MONDAY – Wear Something Red
• TUESDAY – Super Hero Day
• WEDNESDAY – Dress “Cool” – EARLY RELEASE DAY
• THURSDAY – Halloween Costume
• FRIDAY – Wear Maroon and White

This year the Big Kahuna Fundraiser will feature much more than just cookie dough! Our booklet will feature kitchen specialties, cookbooks, gourmet mixes, totes, holiday wrap, desserts of all kinds, and, of course, the best cookie dough in Texas. Students will bring home packets and those who wish to participate will have the opportunity to win some spectacular prizes.  Students will be selling items through November 6th with Delivery Date being December 12th.

Parents will need to make sure that orders match the total of money returned. Otherwise, orders may not be placed. Students will need to sell quickly because the fundraiser will only last approximately two weeks. That’s just enough time to win that Limo Ride or a Trip to the Gym Inflatables!
