Fifth Grade Field Trip
Thursday, October 28th, White Oak 5th graders will attend the children’s musical concert, Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim, hosted by ETBU in Marshall, Texas. The performance is scheduled to begin at 10:00. Afterward all six classes will picnic at our Nature Center Pavilion.On this day teachers have asked that students wear a maroon White Oak shirt and bring a sack lunch. Please make sure your child’s name is on his/her lunch items and drinks.
Because this is Red Ribbon Week and the theme for the day is “Put a Cap on Drugs”, students may wear their favorite hat or cap. However, students will not be allowed to wear the hat or cap in the auditorium at ETBU.
NOTE: PERMISSION SLIPS MUST BE SIGNED AND RETURNED WITH YOUR CHILD.
Stephen Joshua Sondheim (born March 22, 1930) is an American composer and lyricist for stage and film. He is the winner of an Academy Award, multiple Tony Awards (eight, more than any other composer) including the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre,[1] multiple Grammy Awards, and a Pulitzer Prize. Dress Like a Friend/Favorite Teacher
Wednesday is Dress Like a Friend or Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher Day. You are sure to feel like as if you are seeing double if you just look around. Lots of students have been planning on dressing like their favorite teachers. Some friends have paired up to dress alike. It should be a fun Red Ribbon Drug Free kind of day.
Tuesday Sweatpants and School Shirt
On Tuesday of Red Ribbon Week, students are asked to wear sweatpants and a school shirt. It does not have to be a White Oak school shirt. It can be any kind of school shirt. This will be a casual way of letting others know that we are not going to sweat it. We will remain drug free here at White Oak Elementary.
Paired Up to Be – Drug Free!
Are my eyes deceiving me? I found a pair of students who got creative in their quest to wear RED today. It isn’t even “Dress Like a Friend Day” but these girls always stick together. Thanks to all our students for their participation in Red Ribbon Week.
