How does your garden grow?
In celebration of our new White Oak Nature Center, our Fall Box Top Collection Drive will be a contest to see how big each class can grow their Box Top Garden!
Not only will we see which class can grow a great garden, we are going to honor the TOP Boy Gardener and the TOP Girl Gardener on the elementary campus! The girl and boy that bring in the most box tops by October 8 will receive grand prizes listed below. Eligible box tops need to have visible unexpired dates on them to be counted toward totals. In addition box tops must be in a baggie, envelope, or collection sheets with the student’s name on the baggies, envelopes, or sheets. A student’s name does not have to be on each individual box top if it is in some sort of baggie, etc.
Individual box tops will count toward individual student totals and classroom totals. The top three classrooms with the most box tops in their “gardens” will receive prize money to be spent on their classroom. The top class will receive a “garden party” for their class.

Tutu Much Spirit
Today was our first football game and the girls turned out showing “tutu” much spirit. Way to go ladies! Here at White Oak Elementary we back our Roughnecks. If you need more proof, just stop by our campus on any given Friday.
Elementary Building
Testing in Progress
As we gather data on our newest students and revisit data on our returning students, we gain direction as teachers. When you enter our building, you will notice a quote on our bulletin board that states, “Success is not a destination; it’s a journey.” What we are seeking is a road map. We need to know our beginning mark so we can set our course.
August 30th begins the two-week window for our universal screening. Third grade students will be given the TPRI while fourth and fifth graders will be asked to complete Read Naturally. Also, third graders will be taking their very first Math Probe on basic addition facts and fourth grade will take a Math Probe on Place Value through hundred thousands.
These are exciting times at White Oak Intermediate. We are having a W.O.nderful year.
