First Grade Reader’s Theater

Our first grade classes will host their annual Thanksgiving Reader’s Theater on Monday, November 21st. Parents are invited to their child’s classroom to participate in this event. The Reader’s Theater will begin at 11:45.  We do hope that all of you will plan to come and support our students.

School Food Drive

White Oak Intermediate School is having a food drive to assist White Oak TAP (Temporary Assistance Program). Our character trait this month is GRATITUDE. Gratitude is letting others know you see how they have helped you. Students may bring in their contributions from Wednesday, November 16th to Friday, November 18th.

On Tuesday, November 22nd (our early release day), we will have our character assembly. Pat Wayt, representative of TAP, will speak to the students about TAP and accept the donated food for the food bank.  We will recognize students whose names have been submitted for exhibiting gratitude by their words and actions this month.

TAP is in need of the following items:

canned fruit and fruit juice, canned meats, Spam, tuna, chicken, chili, soup, stew, spaghetti sauce, rice, pasta, dried beans and peas, canned vegetables (no green beans or corn please), flour, cornmeal, sugar, cake mixes, oatmeal, and cereal.

Shelter in Place

This was a picture snapped today in Longview and was also the reason that we had an emergency Shelter-in-Place today at the elementary building. A special thank you goes out to the faculty for keeping our students calm and safe during the stormy and hectic time dismissal time.  Also thank you to those parents who remained calm and patient as we did everything we could to protect your children.
