Due to the weather, White Oak ISD has delayed the start of school by two hours. Buses will run two hours later. School will begin at 10:00. Please be careful and keep warm. We will see you tomorrow!

We will have a school holiday on Monday, February 17th, to celebrate Presidents’ Day. While you are sitting around the house bored and wishing you were back at school, you could test your knowledge of United States Presidents. Administration has made a change in dismissal times for INTERMEDIATE school for this Wednesday, January 29th. Please make a note of the new dismissal time. Notes will be sent home again today showing this change.

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will dismiss tomorrow at 11:30.

PreK Students will dismiss at 11:00.

JUST A REMINDER!

Parents, mark your calendars.

Next Wednesday, January 29th, Primary and Intermediate students will have an early release date. This will be a training day for teachers. Training classes will begin shortly after your children are dismissed. Because of the scheduled events, we are asking that parents NOT eat lunch with their child on the 29th. Please make note of the times below:

• Afternoon PreK will meet from 8-11 with the morning class
• Primary Early Release – 11:30
  
• Intermediate Early Release – 12:00

“Shine your Smile Day” is here! White Oak Elementary is hosting the Smile Program, the mobile dentists on February 3rd, 4th, and 5th. We have invited the Smile Program to coordinate on-site dental care at our school because we know how important taking care of your children’s teeth is to keeping them healthy. Best of all, your child can receive dental care at NO COST TO YOU, as Medicaid, CHIP and most other insurances cover 100% of prevention treatment.

Forms to be completed by parents/guardians have been sent home and will need to be returned to our school nurse by Friday, January 11th. The dental team will set up a mini-dental office in our building and provide dental services for all children who return approved forms.
