Allergy Awareness

One of our primary goals at White Oak Elementary is to make sure that our students are safe at school. This year, we have several students that are severely allergic to peanuts. Our school is not a “peanut free” zone, but we are asking for your help. If your child brings a lunch from home and you are able to send items that are free of peanuts and/or peanut oil, we would greatly appreciate it.

For more information on peanut allergies, please take the time to read the Facts and Symptoms. Let’s keep all of our students safe. Thank you for always being supportive of our school.

  1. Just so it’s known, when ever I send lunch with my kiddos (Dax and Karice Beeman), what looks like peanut butter is actually sunbutter (it’s made with sunflower seeds). I just thought I would throw that out there for any other parents looking for a substitute. It can be bought at The Granary.

  2. As a parent of one of the allergic children, I truly appreciate this notice! Exposure to peanuts can easily and quickly threaten the lives of these precious kids. There are so few “safe” places and to know we have the support of this caring community is such a blessing. Thank you!
